Welcome

Gulf Coast Accessibility is located in Spring, TX, a suburb of Houston, TX.  We operate all over the entire state of Texas for TAS Plan Reviews and Inspections.   We operate Nationwide for ADA consulting.

TDLR TAS Handicapped Accessibility Plan Review & Inspection

Compliance with the Texas Architectural Barriers Act as well as the Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS) is very important.  This state law prohibits municipalities (and other political subdivisions) from accepting a building permit application for a building or facility subject to the Act unless that building or facility has been registered with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).  As a State building code, TAS plan reviews and inspections are a totally separate obligation from typical building permit reviews and inspections required by your local municipality building official.

TAS PLAN REVIEWS

What To Submit for Plan Reviews:

* Complete set of plans in .pdf format

* Proof of Submission Form if you are a licensed design professional

*Project Registration Form if I am registering the project

*Check made out to Gulf Coast Accessibility for the Plan Review Fee (plus the $175 filing fee if I am registering the project)

What To Expect:

* A plan review report will be issued to the building owner, the architect/engineer, and the tenant if applicable.   Once construction is complete, the required TAS Inspection must be done.

TAS INSPECTIONS

What To Submit for Inspections:

*A request for inspection form filled out and signed.  If the box, "I am the owner's agent" is checked, that will trigger the Owner/Agent Designation to be filled out and signed as well.

*Check made out to Gulf Coast Accessibility for the Inspection Fee

*If additional information is required, I will contact you.

What To Expect:

* An Inspection Approval Letter will be issued to the building owner and the tenant (if applicable) if the inspection is approved.

*If violations are found during the inspection, an Inspection Report will be issued to the building owner and the tenant (if applicable).   The violations will be outlined in the report and the state gives you 270 days (9 months) to complete the corrections.  Once the corrections are made, an inspection response form must be filled out, signed, and turned in to me.
